Does anyone have knowledge of which large landowners are either in favour or against the culling of Greys on their land ? I'm thinking in particular the National Trust and the Woodland Trust. I'd like to know if its worth contacting them for permission to lay traps, depending on what their policy is on Greys. As they are governed by their many members, I'm guessing they may be rather stuck on what they can do with the Squirrel pests.

One of the problems we have in Northumberland is that everyone talks a fine talk but thats all it is.Large private landowners will only hunt/trap greys when it does'nt interfere with the "shooting season" or other aspests of the running of the estate.Other organisations are frightened to trap in case it upsets the public. There is even a great reluctance to show graphic details of the effects of the pox.See my web site www.morpethredsquirrels.org.uk
